The Department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine is a transversal service department. We receive patients from Denmark and patients from abroad. We are located both at Blegdamsvej and Glostrup. Have a thorough look at where your appointment takes place.
The main objective of the Department of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear medicine is to provide optimal patient investigations and a good patient experience.
Every patient is unique and we perform more than 50 different investigations for numerous different and rare indications, thus, not every aspect can be covered. Our patients are always individually informed upon arrival to the department and during the examination. Prior to the appointment at our department all patients will receive written information about our investigations, together with a letter about practical details. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask or contact us in advance.
Give your child the opportunity to ask questions about what will happen in the hospital. For example you can read books about hospital visits for the child. The better a child is prepared for the investigations or treatment they will receive, the better. It will be much easier to handle the situation.
If the child is scheduled for a paediatric investigation, it is a good idea to read the patient information with the child, before you arrive.

The department is a transversal service department. The sections at Blegdamsvej and Glostrup carry out a large number of clinical physiological and nuclear medicine examinations for the clinical departments of Rigshospitalet. Due to the high level of specialization, we also receive patients from all over Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland.

Educational activities are an integral part of staff members development in the Department of Clinical Physiology & Nuclear Medicine. The department delivers extensive training programmes to staff from other nuclear medicine and radiological departments in Denmark and the Nordic countries.
The department is highly active in education at different levels of various health related professionals. The departments educational activities have been accredited by the Danish National Board of Health and by the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Training Centres Committee of the Section of Nuclear Medicine of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
