​Sediga Nateqi's thesis explored new opportunities for precision medicine in biliary tract cancer (BTC), a rare and aggressive cancer with limited treatment options. By analysing genomic and transcriptomic data from 60 BTC patients, the study identified several potential targets for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), an emerging class of targeted cancer therapies. The data generated in the thesis are being incorporated into a manuscript for publication later this year.

The thesis was carried out in close collaboration with MDxCore, Rigshospitalet, who was responsible for the bioinformatics analyses in the project. Their expertise and contribution were instrumental in enabling the comprehensive genomic and transcriptomic profiling that formed the basis of the study.

The findings contribute to our growing understanding of how molecular profiling can support the identification of new treatment strategies for patients with BTC and highlight the potential of RNA-based analyses in guiding the selection of future ADC therapies.

We are also pleased to announce that the project has been selected for poster presentation at the Danish Cancer Research Days in August, where it will be shared with the wider cancer research community.​
