Department of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy

The Department of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy provides occupational therapy and physiotherapy services independently in the department, and in collaboration with almost all other departments at Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet. We provide examination, treatment, and care based on evidence-based practice, and in interdisciplinary set-up with collaborating departments. We contribute to enhance the coherence of treatment and care for patients.

The Department of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy provides occupational therapy and physiotherapy services independently in the department, and in collaboration with almost all other departments at Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet.

Occupational- and Physiotherapists from the department provide examination, treatment, and care based on evidence-based practice, and in interdisciplinary set-up with collaborating departments, we contribute to enhance the coherence of treatment and care for patients.

Daily, we put an honor in interacting respectfully with patients and relatives and intent to provide state-of-the-art treatment that contributes to enhance the coherence of treatment and care for our patients. 

Furthermore, the department functions to co​ntribute to:  

  • Assessment and fitting of assistive devices

  • Mono- and interdisciplinary research within a large range of medical specialties

  • Preparation of rehabilitation plans

  • Education of both occupational therapy and physiotherapy students, Master of Science students and Ph.D. Students 

The department is located at two sites: Rigshospitalet Blegdamsvej and Rigshospitalet Glostrup. In total, approximately 150 persons are employed in the department with the majority being occupational therapists and physiotherapists.

She arrives directly from a position as CEO at Green Building Council and holds a degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen and a PhD from Copenhagen Business School.

New Danish–Swedish hospital collaboration to boost research and patient treatment

​Conducting large clinical studies and sharing research data between Sweden and Denmark is about to become easier. Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University Hospital and Skåne University Hospital have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate cross-border collaboration and strengthen health innovation in the Öresund Region.
