The academic employees of the department have a close research collaboration with the clinical and para-clinical departments at Rigshospitalet, departments at other hospitals and research institutions linked to the University of Copenhagen as well as a wide range of other academic institutions and private biotech-companies.

The archives of the Department of Pathology contain analysed tissue samples from patients who have had a biopsy or undergone surgery at Rigshospitalet.
