Department of Pathology
The Department of Pathology at Rigshospitalet performs highly specialized diagnostics through tissue and sample microscopy as well as analyses. The diagnostics play a crucial role in the medical assessment of diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment selection. We serve as the Danish reference center for prion diseases and have an experimental research unit, the Bartholin Institute, which conducts research on type 1 diabetes and brain cancer.
The foundation of the department lies in our professional expertise, where our key pillars of diagnostics, research, and education work in synergy to provide the best service for our patients.
