News from the Phase 1 Unit

​Homologous Recombination Deficiency (HRD) status remains constant in most cancer patients – results presented at ESMO Targeted Anticancer Therapies congress 2024.

Dr. Sara Krogshede presented data from comprehensive molecular profiling of late-stage HG-NEN patients show actionable targets in 49% of the sequenced patients with some molecular distinction between neuroendocrine carcinomas (NEC) and G3 neuroendocrine tumors (NET).

​March 8th 2024 we will host a symposium celebrating 10 years with the Copenhagen Prospective Personalized Oncology study. Bridging genomic research and clinical oncology.

​Three research projects were elected for poster presentation at the Molecular targets and cancer therapeutics congress 2023 in Boston, USA. The studies are highly relevant for our work at the Phase 1 Unit and the use of genomic profiling in cancer patients. The studies were conducted and presented by two PhD students at the Phase 1 unit, Rigshospitalet, Denmark: Laila Belcaid and Cecilie Iden.

​Last week the TEMPLE study (Thiopurine Enhanced Mutations for PD-1/Ligand-1 Efficacy) was presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2023 annual conference in Madrid. The trial-in-progress poster was presented by Christine Federspiel Secher, MD, PhD-student. 

​The research project “Mutational landscape and therapeutic implications in squamous cell carcinomas” was elected for poster presentation at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) congress 2023 in Madrid, Spain. The study was conducted by Laila Belcaid, MD, PhD student at the Phase 1 unit, Rigshospitalet, Denmark.

​A working committee has formulated recommendations on how Denmark can enhance global competition and remain an attractive collaborator in clinical research.

​Martin Højgaard presented data under the title “Efficacy and ctDNA analysis in an updated cohort of patients with TRK fusion lung cancer treated with Larotrectinib” at European Lung Cancer Congress (ELCC)

​A newly published study revealed a high frequency of germline pathogenic variants in patients with mesothelioma including variants in two genes not previously associated with mesothelioma. The data support germline testing in these patients to identify potential actionable targets and genetic counseling.​​
