Videnscenter for Transplantation (VCT)

I Viroimmunologisk Forskningsenhed vedligeholder vi Videnscenter for Transplantations database.

Formålet med databasen er at undersøge og forbedre behandling af komplikationer efter transplantation, heriblandt infektioner og kronisk sygdom. 

Vi har inkluderet patienter transplanteret på Rigshospitalet mellem 2010-2021, og vi undersøger forekomsten af og risikofaktorer for komplikationer efter transplantation.

​Vi har fundet, at forekomsten og typen af infektioner afhænger af type af organtransplantation, andre tilstedeværende sygdomme hos den organtransplanterede såsom sukkersyge, og eventuelt tidligere koloniseringer med bakterier og infektioner. Vi har således bidraget med vigtig viden om hyppigheden af infektioner og risikofaktorer. 

Indtil nu har vi undersøgt forekomsten af kræft og en række infektioner efter transplantation, inklusiv bakterier i blodet, COVID-19, influenza, pneumocyster og enterokokinfektioner. ​
