In the third short film of the series documenting the development of Mary Elizabeth's Hospital, you will get an inside look at how we are working to create the best conditions and atmosphere for the hospital's user experience centered around the unique needs of patients and their families.

Through the establishment of Mary Elizabeth's Hospital, Rigshospitalet, Region Hovedstaden, and Ole Kirk's Fond have collaboratively embarked on the creation of a groundbreaking hospital, pioneering new approaches to accommodate the lives and needs of families facing vulnerable life situations.

At this facility, cutting-edge research and the highly specialized treatment of children, youth, and pregnant individuals at an internationally acclaimed level are seamlessly integrated with playfulness and cohesive treatment approaches.

To ensure a world-class user experience, Ole Kirk's Fond has allocated a specific portion of its funding to enhance the overall hospital experience. This commitment has led to the formation of a dedicated user experience team comprising anthropologists, service designers, play designers, product designers, and architects. Collaborating seamlessly, they work towards creating optimal environments for children, youth, their families, and our staff.

By involving all user groups in the design process, the team aims to create a space where families can be together in a secure environment. Despite facing serious situations, the goal is to maintain a sense of normalcy in their daily lives. The ultimate objective is for patients and their families to navigate their treatment processes successfully, better preparing them for a successful return home. This initiative enhances their quality of life before, during, and after their stay at the hospital.
