At MARYS' Data Powerhouse, we work with:

• Regis​try-based epidemiological research
  We specialise in long-term follow-up to investigate, and potentially improve and optimise, healthcare pathways.
  
  
• Analysis of data from randomised controlled clinical trials on children, young people, and pregnant women
  We provide our biostatistical expertise in collaborations analysing data from randomised controlled clinical trials involving children, young people, and pregnant women.
  
  
• Optimised data accessibility and understanding
  We aim to strengthen collaboration between experienced clinicians, registry researchers, and statisticians to ensure data is both accessible and comprehensible.
  
  
• Data-driven management
  We focus on leveraging data to study and optimise clinical treatment, care, and patient trajectories.
  
  

The centre was founded through close collaboration between clinicians and epidemiologists at Aarhus University Hospital, Aarhus University, the University of Southern Denmark, VIVE, and Mary Elizabeth's Hospital.

Our founding donation came from the Foundation for Mary Elizabeth's hospital, which raises funds for Mary Elizabeth's Hospital. The centre has since received additional support from the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

The Data Powerhouse is affiliated with Mary Elizabeth's Hospital, the future hospital for children, young people, pregnant women, and their families, set to open in 2027.

Collaboration with the European Children's Hospitals Organisation (ECHO)

Through Rigshospitalet, we are part of the European Children's Hospitals Organisation (ECHO).

ECHO works to improve children's health and their access to the best possible care through collaboration between children's hospitals.

ECHO is a new and growing organisation representing many of Europe's leading children's hospitals. These hospitals care for some of the most complex patients in Europe and around the world, allowing them to contribute to solutions for some of healthcare's biggest challenges.

To achieve its goals, ECHO builds relationships and collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders, including hospital administrators and staff, public health policymakers, healthcare organisations, and patient associations.
