Our values must be incorporated in everything that we do

  • Expertise
  • Attentiveness
  • Equality
  • Curiosity
  • Safety
  • Holistic approach

Why are we building Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital?

At Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital, we go new ways to make room for the needs and lives of people and families. With world-class research and highly specialised staff, we treat children, teens and pregnant women at the highest international level in a safe and homely environment.

With us, the patients and their families will experience that we do everything we can, so they can live life - also when they’re sick. We do this through play and by securing coherence across all contact points before, during and after treatment.

When we are ill, everyday life and a feeling of safety is more important than ever. We use play as a route to happiness, well-being and motivation. With a playful approach, we will motivate patients and families to participate and thrive as well as possible. We prioritize patients being able to live their everyday life while being treated. This is how we get the best results for the whole family.

At Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital the whole person is at the core of all treatment. The hospital will be the first of its kind in the world, and through collaboration with the municipalities, general practitioners, hospitals, researchers and other partners in Denmark and abroad, we will share, inspire, and seek new knowledge about the best and newest treatment for children, teens and pregnant women.

Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital is a ground-breaking hospital, where life can be lived to the full.

We have a solid foundation

As part of Copenhagen University Hospital – Rigshospitalet, Mary Elizabeth’s Hospital has a highly specialised staff. Their work is based on research, education and close collaboration with the entire Danish healthcare services. Rigshospitalet is therefor already a spearhead for international clinical practice.
