Research

Our research is focused at identification and implementation of new cancer biomarkers, identification and characterization of novel targets for future cancer treatment and identification of molecular mechanisms underlying the behaviour of cancer stem cells as well as their normal counterparts. We currently house 6 research groups working on cancer projects.

Behrendt Group

Our vision is to provide increased understanding of proteins involved in cancer invasion, to identify novel molecular targets for cancer therapy among these components and to contribute actively to drug development, realizing the therapeutic potential.

Engelholm Group

Our research group aims to dissect and harness the underlying molecular mechanisms of cancer progression, focusing on antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and the critical role of specific cell types in the pathology of liver fibrosis.

Our research focus is on biochemical and biophysical aspects of disease relevant proteins and their interacting ligands with special emphasis on proteins implicated in cancer dissemination or dyslipidemia.

Porse Group

Our research group addresses the molecular mechanisms governing both normal and malignant hematopoiesis with the aim to identify novel targets for future therapeutic intervention in patients suffering from AML.

Weischenfeldt Group

Our research group uses data-driven computational and molecular biology approaches to study why mutations occur and how they make cancer cells evolve, with the overarching goal to understand the mutational processes that allow tumor cells to escape and evolve to cause treatment-resistance.
