      • Helicopter Emergency Medical Services
      • High dependency and urgent inter-hospital transfers
      • Prehospital psychiatric critical care unit
      • Non-urgent patient transport
  • Out-of-hours medical helpline 1813 (available 24 hours daily)
  • Major Incident Medical Management (including preparedness planning)
  • On-scene major incident medical commanders
  • Emer​gency Medical Coordination Centre (EMCC)

EMS Research Center

Research in the EMS is a highly prioritized area and has a wide range within acute medical care. It is closely integrated with the control center and ambulances with the main purpose to improve treatment and contact to patients. The research projects arises from current issues to solve relevant clinical challenges.

Physician staffed Critical Care Units

Five Physician staffed Critical Care Units, manned by an emergency physician and paramedic make up the spearhead of the emergency medical services in pre-hospital work by the Capital Region of Denmark. The Physician staffed Critical Care Units provide advanced medical diagnostics and treatment, providing support to the region's ambulance services.
