In the Research Unit for Womens and Childrens Health researchers with different health professional backgrounds are gathered in a research community on issues related to children, youth, women and families and their needs for prevention and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.

The research is descriptive as well as experimental, and includes qualitative, quantitative and mixed methodological approaches. Intervention research that promotes a personal and family-centered approach in a highly specialized hospital is prioritized.
