Simple, reliable and patient-friendly
The aim of UNCOVER Endometriosis is to explore new approaches that may contribute to simpler and earlier diagnosis of endometriosis.
A key element of the project is simplicity. We are investigating biological characteristics associated with endometriosis and their potential to form the basis of a future diagnostic approach that is both reliable and minimally invasive.
Ultimately, our ambition is to develop an approach that can be integrated into clinical practice and help reduce the burden associated with current diagnostic pathways.
The UNCOVER pilot study
UNCOVER is currently conducting a pilot study at Rigshospitalet to explore the potential of this approach in women undergoing clinical evaluation and treatment.
The study is closely integrated with existing clinical pathways, allowing research and clinical practice to work side by side.
The knowledge gained from the pilot study will help guide the next stages of the UNCOVER research programme and future clinical studies.
Our vision
Our long-term goal is to contribute to the development of a simple, reliable and minimally invasive diagnostic approach for endometriosis.
By bringing research closer to clinical practice, we hope to contribute to earlier diagnosis, shorter diagnostic pathways and ultimately better care for women with endometriosis.

Funding and support
The UNCOVER pilot study has received financial support from Oda og Hans Svenningsens Fond.
In addition, UNCOVER Endometriosis has been awarded DKK 2 million from the Karen Elise Jensen Foundation to support the next phase of the project. The funding will enable the initiation of a larger study in 2027, conducted in collaboration with Aarhus University Hospital (AUH).
