​Spinal Cord Injury and Disease Research Group carries out clinical and epidemiological research related to the challenge’s individuals with spinal cord lesions face.


Main medical specialty: Neurology​​

Clinical and epidemiological research related to the challenge’s individuals with spinal cord lesions face has been the priority, including studies on respiratory and cardiovascular function, urinary bladder and bowel management, sexual function and fertility, pain, spasticity, osteoporosis, sleep disturbances, etc. Functional electrical stimulation, exoskeletons and other treatment modalities are used. The department participates in standardization of data collection internationally.

The research is performed in cooperation with many clinical departments and academic institutions in Denmark and abroad.
