Emergency Medical Services Copenhagen

The Emergency Medical Services Copenhagen is responsible for a number of cross-desciplinary emergency functions in The Capital Region of Denmark.

 

The EMS Copenhagen has the overall responsibility for services such as the following:

  • Receiving health-related emergency calls - 112
  • Dispatching:
    • Ambulances
    • Physician staffed prehospital critical care unit
    • Helicopter Emergency Medical Services
    • Prehospital psychiatric care unit
    • Transport of lying patients
  • Managing the Medical Helpline 1813
  • Health-related emergency response plans
  • Emergency medical vehicles including sending out emergency response team leaders
  • Ambulance helicopters
  • The Acute Medicine Coordination Centre (AMK), the operational emergency response
