Emergency admissions and urgent care centres

Help is always on hand - no matter whether you have a sudden illness, a minor injury or a serious injury. Before going to an emergency admission you must dial 1813.

Hvidovre, Herlev, Hillerød an​​​d Bispebjerg​

These four hospitals all have emergency admissions. They are open 24 hours a day. Here, you can receive treatment for a serious or minor injury, or if you have suddenly been taken ill.

Bornhol​​m’s H​​ospital

Has an emergency department with limited functions, that can treat acute illnesses and diverse injuries. Cases involving critical illness or serious injuries are initially treated at Bornholm’s Hospital and then patients are flown to one of the Capital Region of Denmark’s other hospitals, normally Rigshospitalet.

Gentofte, Frederiksberg, Frederikssund, Helsingør, Amager and Glostrup

These six hospitals have urgent care centers.  They are open 7 days a week from 07:00 - 22:00. Here you can be treated for minor injuries such as cuts, wounds, minor burns and sprains.

​Rigsho​spitalet

Has a trauma center. Patients with serious injuries are brought here by ambulance or helicopter, where they can receive appropriate treatment.  It is not possible to receive walk-in emergency treatment.
