Greater Copenhagen Health Science Partners (GCHSP)

A platform that brings researchers and clinicians together in disease‑specific research groups.

Greater Copenhagen Health Science Partners (GCHSP) is a partnership between the University of Copenhagen, the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Region Zealand and the Capital Region of Denmark. Based at Rigshospitalet, GCHSP provides a shared platform that connects researchers and clinicians across Eastern Denmark to strengthen translational and clinical health research.

GCHSP creates and supports organized research networks called Clinical Academic Groups (CAGs).

These groups bring university researchers and hospital clinicians together around specific disease areas aiming to:

  • Work more closely across institutions
  • Share knowledge and data
  • Develop new diagnostics and treatments faster
  • Translate research into clinical practice

Purpose and mission

GCHSP exists to make the path from research to patient care faster and smoother by giving researchers and clinicians:

  • A structured framework for collaboration
  • Strong interdisciplinary networks
  • Access to partners across hospitals and universities
  • Support to develop new clinical solutions

Clinical Academic Groups

A central pillar of GCHSP is the creation of Clinical Academic Groups (CAGs). These are cross disciplinary, cross institutional research groups that unite researchers and clinicians around major disease areas. Each CAG aims to deliver excellence in research, develop new clinical solutions, and improve treatment for patients. There are currently 27 CAGs, which are all listed here:

  • Accelerating Clinical Integration of Cell and Gene Therapies (ATMP)
  • Allergy (ALLERGY)
  • Brain and Technology (BAT)
  • Center for Endotheliomics (ENDO)
  • Clinical Bioinformatics (CBIO)
  • Digital Phenotyping for Home based Treatment and Care (DIGITAL)
  • Fighting Frailty in Ageing (AGING)
  • Greater Copenhagen Research Centre for Systemic Low-Grade Inflammation (LOGINFLAM)
