Rigshospitalet as part of ERDERA: Strengthening European Collaboration on Rare Diseases

Rigshospitalet is part of the European Rare Diseases Research Alliance (ERDERA) through the Capital Region of Denmark. ERDERA is an EU partnership bringing together more than 170 organizations from 37 countries to improve the lives of the 30 million people in Europe living with a rare disease.

Rare diseases are often complex, difficult to diagnose, and without effective treatment. ERDERA aims to change this by strengthening research, improving access to clinical studies, and advancing shared European solutions.

Through its participation, Rigshospitalet contributes to:

  • Faster and more accurate diagnosis of rare diseases
  • Stronger clinical research across Europe
  • Better data and knowledge to support new treatments
  • Access to ERDERA funding for initiatives shaped by patient needs

By joining ERDERA, Rigshospitalet and the Capital Region help enhance patient care, advance collaborative research, and position Denmark at the forefront of international progress on rare diseases.
