Comprehensive genomic profiling for late stage cancer patients is instrumental for identifying relevant clinical trials and/or targeted therapies for patients. But sometimes genomic profiling fails despite having enrolled the patient in a relevant genomic profiling program.

The main reasons for failure to obtain genomic data are explored in the latest publication by Laila Belcaid from the Phase 1 Unit and partners with data from more than 2000 patients undergoing whole genome/exome profiling in the CoPPO genomic profiling program.

The Phase 1 Unit and partners (Dept. of Genomic Medicine, Rigshospitalet) have profiled >4000 patients in lieu of the Copenhagen Prospective Personalized Oncology (CoPPO) program since 2013 matching patients and therapies as well providing insights on molecular alterations (WGS DNA, RNAseq, copy number variations, germline data) coupled with comprehensive clinical metadata.
