    Affected neuropsychological development, malnutrition and unknown etiology in children with biliary atresia

    Biliary atresia children have affected neuropsychological development, malnutrition and unknown etiology. The hypothesis is that affected neuropsychological development can be identified in early childhood and that malnutrition and immunological status are risk factors. We aim to improve the prognosis by mapping the etiology in a prospective study.

    Childhood Neuroborreliosis. A nationwide study to investigate neuroinflammation and optimize diagnostics and treatment

    ​Neuroborreliosis (NB) is caused by the tick-borne bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and most commonly causes peripheral facial palsy. We aim to investigate new diagnostic methods of childhood NB as well as to investigate safety of oral doxycycline and, through a randomized controlled trial, safety and efficacy of oral steroids.

    Examine the genetic profile of women with ovarian cancer in order to identify druggable targets

    ​Annually more than 500 Danish women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The treatment is often surgery and chemotherapy. Unfortunately, approximately 20% of patients are resistant to treatment - and 80% with primary response will relapse. We will examine the genetic profile of women with ovarian cancer in order to identify druggable targets.

    This is a prospective exploratory study performed at Rigshospitalet and Århus University Hospital.     Support and care for women and their partner’s during and after an early pregnancy loss

    Early pregnancy loss is a common complication to pregnancy and estimated to occur in about 20% of all recognized pregnancies. The loss is an unexpected life event for the women and their partner’s and the emotional impact of an early pregnancy loss can be grief as if they lost a loved one, anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder.

    Surgical staff’s perception of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist – an OR Black Box project

    A single center cross sectional study aiming to investigate the surgical staff’s (n=150) perception on the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist in a gynecological operating ward at the Juliane Marie Center, Rigshospitalet. The method will be a questionnaire-based approach using Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap), which gives each participant a unique identifier to anonymize the data.​

    Transcriptional and epigenetic effects on rheumatoid arthritis in the post-partum period

    Many women with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) experience a natural improvement of the disease during pregnancy, while symptoms return after they give birth. The research project attempts to identify genes that influence the disease during and after pregnancy among women with RA. Possibly, the study can identify new bio-markers of great importance for better and safer treatment in the future.

    ​The OVERCOME trial tests the effect of guided self-determination in T2D at RH & SDCO. The EMPOWER-UP is a generic PRO under development and validation to measure relational empowerment in DK, GB & AUS. The VALUES-BASED PARTNERSHIP model is being implemented in BUKIR and is moreover part of PROSPER clarifying & alleviating symptoms of distress.​
