The impact of age on survival in ovarian cancer: treatment perspectives

​Older women with ovarian cancer have a poorer survival rate than younger women. We want to study why this is so and how we can improve treatment.

​A follow-up on the DAKL cohort to assess the prognostic values of paraclinical tests and thereby find better diagnostic tools to better the prognosis.

Affected neuropsychological development, malnutrition and unknown etiology in children with biliary atresia

Biliary atresia children have affected neuropsychological development, malnutrition and unknown etiology. The hypothesis is that affected neuropsychological development can be identified in early childhood and that malnutrition and immunological status are risk factors. We aim to improve the prognosis by mapping the etiology in a prospective study.

Cardiovascular disease after preeclampsia

​Women with a history of preeclampsia are invited to cardiac CT-scan to detect coronary atherosclerotic changes. 

Childhood Neuroborreliosis. A nationwide study to investigate neuroinflammation and optimize diagnostics and treatment

​Neuroborreliosis (NB) is caused by the tick-borne bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and most commonly causes peripheral facial palsy. We aim to investigate new diagnostic methods of childhood NB as well as to investigate safety of oral doxycycline and, through a randomized controlled trial, safety and efficacy of oral steroids.

Evaluating the increasing prevalence of cerebral palsy in Danish children born preterm

A population-based cohort study that aims to provide knowledge about the increased prevalence of preterm children with cerebral palsy in Denmark from the years 1997-2013. Our hypothesis is that the increased prevalence directly results from decreasing mortality of preterm children and growing proportions of infants born extremely premature. 

Examine the genetic profile of women with ovarian cancer in order to identify druggable targets

​Annually more than 500 Danish women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The treatment is often surgery and chemotherapy. Unfortunately, approximately 20% of patients are resistant to treatment - and 80% with primary response will relapse. We will examine the genetic profile of women with ovarian cancer in order to identify druggable targets. 

Feasibility and implementation of a digitalized version of GSD and video conversations

Home Chemotherapy for children with cancer - a feasibility study

​The Ph.D. project comprise: 1) An explorative ethnographic study of children with cancer´s experience of intravenous antibiotic treatment at home using a transportable infusion pump and 2) An intervention study developing, testing and evaluating interventions with home chemotherapy in a user involving design with before and after measurements.

A prospective observational multicentre study investigating a new diagnostic method, RNA signature, in children with febrile neutropenia including all Danish Pediatric Oncology Departments (Rigshospitalet, Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg University Hospitals).

​The study aims to determine which lung function measurement is the most suitable to determine lung disease in children med esophageal atresia (EA) and tracheomalacia (TM). That means performing a many different lung function measurements in children with TM aged 0-18 years and correlating the results with what is seen in bronchoscopy and CT-scans.

Maternal Mental Health (MAMA) Study. Prevention of postpartum depression in a high-risk group: effects and mothers’ expectations.

Maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) is a group of monogenetic forms of diabetes with an autosomal dominant inheritance. We aim to examine the prevalence and outcome of pregnancies complicated with MODY, and the social and ethical implications of being diagnosed with MODY during pregnancy using gene-based precision medicine. ​

Support and care for women and their partner’s during and after an early pregnancy loss

Early pregnancy loss is a common complication to pregnancy and estimated to occur in about 20% of all recognized pregnancies. The loss is an unexpected life event for the women and their partner’s and the emotional impact of an early pregnancy loss can be grief as if they lost a loved one, anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder.

Surgical staff’s perception of the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist – an OR Black Box project

A single center cross sectional study aiming to investigate the surgical staff’s (n=150) perception on the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist in a gynecological operating ward at the Juliane Marie Center, Rigshospitalet. The method will be a questionnaire-based approach using Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap), which gives each participant a unique identifier to anonymize the data.​

The impact of fertility assessment and counselling in preventing infertility

​The Fertility Assessment and Counseling (FAC) Clinic in Copenhagen has the aim of informing men and women of their reproductive potential and how to prevent infertility. The aim is to explore the impact of this concept.​

A prospective cohort study of the predictive value of the Salurate test-device for preeclampsia and related outcomes. A qualitative interview study of pregnant womens attitude towards self-monitoring using a telemedic solution.In addition a clinical study of uric acid in saliva, maternal blood, amniotic fluid and cord blood during childbirth.

Transcriptional and epigenetic effects on rheumatoid arthritis in the post-partum period

Many women with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) experience a natural improvement of the disease during pregnancy, while symptoms return after they give birth. The research project attempts to identify genes that influence the disease during and after pregnancy among women with RA. Possibly, the study can identify new bio-markers of great importance for better and safer treatment in the future.  

Translational Empowerment

​The OVERCOME trial tests the effect of guided self-determination in T2D at RH & SDCO. The EMPOWER-UP is a generic PRO under development and validation to measure relational empowerment in DK, GB & AUS. The VALUES-BASED PARTNERSHIP model is being implemented in BUKIR and is moreover part of PROSPER clarifying & alleviating symptoms of distress.​

X-linked adenoleukodystrophy

We wish to explore the Danish, X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (XALD) population and conduct a pilot study for XALD newborn screening in Denmark. ​
