The Antenatal Units is located on the 2nd and
third floor of the hospital. The majority of women do not need to be admitted to
hospital prior to the onset of labour. However, in some cases it may be
necessary to spend some time on the Antenatal Unit as an in-patient or for
review in the Antenatal Day Assessment Area. This stay can vary from a few hours
to a number of weeks depending on individual cases.
On admission you will be assessed by the
antenatal team. Your care is continuously reviewed by our midwives, nurses and
doctors who will keep you informed of what is happening on a regular basis. They
will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
If you require admission before your baby is born you
will be accommodated in a 2 or 4 bedded rooms.
