Professor Susanne Krüger Kjaer

​Susanne Krüger Kjaer is a professor of gynaecological cancer epidemiology at the Department of Gynaecology at The Juliane Marie Centre, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University Hospital and the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Her main research areas are:
  • Human papillomavirus (HPV) and cancer
  • Ovarian cancer
  • breast cancer
  • Cancer and other morbidity among women with infertility problems and their children, and the importance of gene-environment interactions in cancer development

The main part of the research falls within two groups: 1) register-based research and 2) clinical and molecular biological epidemiology based on large population-based studies. Professor Susanne Krüger Kjaer has authored more than 350 scientific papers, and she is the Danish primary investigator on the clinical, randomised trials of the efficacy of HPV vaccination.
