Associate professor Jette Led Sørensen

​Jette Led Sørensen is a specialised Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She has a Masters Degree from Center for Medical Education, University of Dundee, Scotland and Doctoral dissertation/PhD from Maastricht University, Netherlands. 

Jette Led Sørensen is the Head of Education and Associate Professor at The Juliane Marie Centre for Children, Women and Reproduction, Rigshospitalet, University of Copenhagen.
​​ ​Jette Led Sørensen’s main research areas are:
  • Obstetric simulation-based training
  • Team training in obstetrics and anaesthesiology
  • Multi-professional and multi-disciplinary training
  • Simulation in laparoscopic surgery and ultrasound simulation
  • Pediatric simulation
  • Curriculum development and workplace-based assessment.

Jette Led Sørensen received in 2016: Research abstract 1st place at the Annual International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare IMSH, San Diego. 2015: The AMEE Research Paper Award for "Excellence in Medical Education Research" at AMEE (Association of Medical Education in Europe). 2011: Society of Simulation in Healthcare: Research article with best Clinical Outcomes. In 2010 a national educational award (Codan/SEB Pension) for her effort within research and education in Denmark. 

In 2010 she received Rigshospitalets award for best head of education, and in 2006 the Danish Association of Trainees in Gynaecology and Obstetrics awarded her for best work as head of education in Denmark. 

In 2004 Jette Led Sørensen was awarded as ’Best educator of the year’ by Faculty of Health, Copenhagen University and in 2001 she got the medical students price as best educator at Hvidovre Hospital, University of Copenhagen.

Publications and CV

Jette Led Sørensen has several publications in peer-reviewed papers and has edited and contributed with several chapters to a teaching book about management in obstetric emergencies.
