Clinically based research at an international level
Research activities cover more than half of the department's total activities.
All research activities evolve around growth and reproduction, and study how these parameters can be affected by genetic, hormonal, lifestyle and environmental factors. We conduct and follow large cohorts of children, adolescents and adults and make use of molecular and cell biology, histology, analytical chemistry, and epidemiology to investigate these parameters.
The department received the Centre of Global Excellence Award in 2010 and again in 2014 for doing research and clinical work at an international level.
