IMMUNEMO

ImmuneMo – Immune function as predictor of infectious complications, treatment response and clinical outcome in patients undergoing different types of “immune modulating" interventi​ons​. A prospective non-interventional observational trial including both patients living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients and patients with Infectious spondylodiscitis.


In ImmuneMo we aim to investigate the relationship between immune function and infectious diseases. Our work is part of a greater study on Rigshospitalet, which includes patients with infections, cancers, and autoimmune diseases. The study involves blood samples analyzed using flow cytometry and the TruCulture® functional assay which assess the innate immune function by whole blood stimulation with Toll-like receptor ligands(1)​

So far, our study has revealed that immune status plays a role in the susceptibility to infectious diseases, as evidenced by impaired innate immune function observed in patients with infectious spondylodiscitis and HIV. At present, we are assessing if the immune function assessment by TruCulture® can predict viral infection post-transplantation in SOT. ​
