Postgraduate teaching
The department is responsible for training most of the medical specialists in Denmark training to become specialists in otorhinolaryngology. The training is structured and divided into three levels taking place over a period of minimum 5½ years. The department has nine training positions. Professor Christian von Buchwald is responsible for the postgraduate teaching.

Pregraduate teaching
The department is a university department responsible for teaching and training medical students at the University of Copenhagen in the field of otorhinolaryngology. The department teaches and trains approx. 240 students a year, of whom 50 students are exchange students who are taught in English. The classes are mainly hands-on supplemented with cathedral lectures. Prof. Christian von Buchwald is responsible for the pregraduate teaching.
