At the Department of Rheumatology at Rigshospitalet, COPEACT (Copenhagen Research Center for Autoimmune Connective Tissue Diseases) serves as a research center where we aim to acquire new knowledge and understanding through research to benefit our patients with autoimmune connective tissue diseases.
At COPEACT, our research focuses on autoimmune joint and connective tissue diseases, which can affect joints, muscles, skin, mucous membranes, and internal organs.
These systemic autoimmune diseases are rare but can significantly impact the lives of individual patients. Therefore, we conduct cross-disease research in the hope of drawing parallels and transferring knowledge between autoimmune diseases. At COPEACT, our network and collaboration reach are extensive, encompassing both national and international partners.
Many of our patients with autoimmune joint and connective tissue diseases participate in COPEACT's research projects. The goal of our research is to continuously improve diagnostics and treatment for patients suffering from autoimmune joint and connective tissue diseases.
Research on joint and connective tissue diseases is led by Professor Søren Jacobsen.
