The Department of Reumatology and Spine Diseases is Denmark's largest rheumatology department and Northern Europe's largest interdisciplinary department for back diseases.

The department prevents, diagnoses, treats and rehabilitates patients with diseases and injuries that affect joints, muscles, back and bones.
There is a large interdisciplinary collaboration across the various departments in the ward and with the hospital's other wards. The interdisciplinary activities ensure that the processes for our patients are optimized in relation to visitation, examination and treatment.

In addition, the department works to set innovative, interdisciplinary and patient-focused standards for the quality of the services offered in the department.
At the The Department of Reumatology and Spine Diseases, we examine and treat patients with diseases of the joints, muscles, back and bones.

We are together approx. 300 employees and has approx. 300 outpatients a day.

Research and education

The Department of Reumatology and Spine Diseases is affiliated with the University of Copenhagen and has extensive activities within research, development and education. We have leading experts in both arthritis and back diseases, who participate in several research projects.​
