Sven Kreiborg is professor of pediatric dentistry and clinical genetics at University of Copenhagen and is employed at Department of Clinical Genetics, Juliane Marie Centre, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University Hospital as Head of the Copenhagen Craniofacial Unit.
His main research areas are:
- Normal og abnormal craniofacial development
- Premature craniesynostosis
- Craniofaciale syndromes
- 3D craniofacial imaging
He has been co-founder of the Copenhagen Craniofacial Unit and has headed this unit since 1999. Furthermore, he is Head of the 3D Craniofacial Image Research Laboratory at the Panum Institute; a joint research laboratory between University of Copenhagen, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University Hospital and the Technical University of Denmark.
He has published more than 200 scientific articles, 20 textbook chapters and more than 200 scientific abstracts.
Professor Sven Kreiborg has received the Ingeborg and Leo Dannin’s research prize in 1987; Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog in 1987; Vanførefondens Forskningspris (The Fund for Research for the Handicapped Prize) in 2001; “The Toomey Lecture”, University of Maryland in 2001; FDSRCS (Fellowship ad eundem from Faculty of Dentistry, The Royal College of Surgeons of England) in 2004; “The Sheldon Friel Memorial Lecture”, European Orthodontic Society in 2009; and Knight 1st Class of the Order of the Dannebrog 2011.
