The
Department of Clinical Genetics offers diagnosis, management, and counselling of
patients and families with chromosome anomalies, inborn errors of metabolism,
and other inherited, congenital, and malignant disorders.
Clinical
services are provided by the Genetic Counselling Clinic, the Clinic for Rare
Disorders, and the Center for Inborn Errors of Metabolism. The department
provides both inhospital and outpatient services.
Our laboratories
include the Chromosome Laboratory, including a Section of Hematology-Oncology,
the Metabolic Laboratory, and the Molecular Genetic Laboratory.
Our
clinical approach is to offer non-directive genetic counselling of individuals
and families as well as treatment of inherited disorders supported by
state-of-the-art laboratory analyses.
