Molecular Pathology

The Laboratory of Molecular Pathology is part of Bartholin Institute, which is incorporated in the Department of Pathology at Rigshospitalet and investigates pathological processes related to cancer, diabetes and immunology.
The Laboratory of Molecular Pathology works with tissue specimens to investigate genetic/molecular mechanisms of different types of human cancer.

The laboratory collaborates with the other laboratories and teams at the Department of Pathology and other Clinical Departments at Rigshospitalet as well as other research laboratories at other Institutions with the purpose of developing diagnostic, prognostic and predictive biomarkers applicable to human tissue samples through molecular-biological methods, such as gene sequencing, PCR analysis, FISH and immunohistochemistry.

Tissue Microarray (TMA)-preparation and biobank function is also part of the laboratory’s activity.
