Our primary clinical involvement lies within the Division of Pediatric Surgery, as part of the Department of Organ Surgery and Transplantation (Center for Cancer and Organ Diseases), and with the Juliane Marie Center at Rigshospitalet.
We work in close collaboration with clinicians from various specialities and scientists within clinical research, basic science and chemical engineering, mainly at Rigshospitalet, the University of Copenhagen, Karolinska Institutet and the Technical University of Denmark.
Other close collaborators are within the consortium of translational research, The Clinical Academic Group: Regenerative Medicine for Urogenital Surgery and Fertility (abbreviated CAG-SURF), where M. Fossum has been primary chairperson since 2021. The consortium includes Danish and Swedish clinicians within pediatric surgery, urology and gynecology, as well as researchers from the Department of Health Technologies at the Technical University of Denmark. In total, the CAG-SURF includes primary investigators from six hospitals and 5 universities.
Furthermore, we have established a collaboration with researchers at the reNEW Center for Stem Cell Research at the Panum Institute, University of Copenhagen.
Internationally, we are involved with the European Reference Network for rare congenital uro-recto-genital anomalies (M. Fossum is work package 1 research lead, and lead of diagnose area 1.6 on proximal hypospadias), and with the European Society of Pediatric Urology research committee (M. Fossum Chair 2016-2022).
