Neonatology

The primary mission for the Neonatal Department at Copenhagen University Hospital, Rigshospitalet is care of extremely premature infants, pre- and post-operative care of infants with malformations, intensive care, and the provision of transport.
We provide level 3 neonatal care for newborns and for babies less than 1 year of age from all of Eastern Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland. For ECMO we cover Denmark.
We provide level 2 neonatal care 
for babies born to 2000 low risk mothers from Copenhagen delivering at the maternity ward at Rigshospitalet.

The department  is divided in three interdisciplinary clinical teams, providing sub-specialisation
 
Team 1:
Neurological problems and intensive care beyond the neonatal period

Neonatal surgery and 'the smallest babies' (gestational age less than 26weeks)
