Lectures and Laboratories

Lectures and laboratories are taught by the scientists and MDs involved in the cryopreservation workflow; from the laparoscopical removal of the human ovary, to the preparation of the cortical tissue for cryopreservation, and the autotransplantation of the frozen/thawed ovarian tissue once the patient has recovered from her illness.


The laboratory sessions are hands on exercises. The participants will prepare bovine ovaries for cryopreservation and performe the cryopreservation procedure according to our protocol for human ovaries. Each participant will obtain detailed knowledge about the critical steps during the cryopreservation procedure and learn the skilled trade of preparing the ovarian tissue thin enough for cryopreservation.
