The Bartholin Institute
The Bartholin Institute
The institute carries out research within the fields of cancer and diabetes/immunology.
We are located in the Teilum Building at the Rigshospitalet (cancer) and in the Copenhagen Biocenter (diabetes/immunology).
Our name originates from Thomas Bartholin, the Danish anatomist who discovered the lymphatic system, since many of the institute's activities are related to the immune system.
Diabetes / Immunology
More than 1% of the Danish population is suffering from type I diabetes mellitus, one of the highest incidences in the world. Read more about our research
