Danish professor is new President of the International Spinal Cord Society

Professor Fin Biering-Sørensen, Head of Department at the Department of Spinal Cord Injuries, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark has been elected President of the International Spinal Cord Society.
The new President of the International Spinal Cord Society was elected during the Annual General Meeting in New Delhi in late October 2010, and this year the position went to the Danish Professor Fin Biering-Sørensen.

Everyday challenges for spinal cord injured
The newly elected President has previously held the position of Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the International Spinal Cord Society for six years, and he has held several other positions of trust in the Society.

In his research, Fin Biering-Sørensen has focused on the challenges faced by patients with spinal cord injuries in their daily lives.

In autumn 2008 Fin Biering-Sørensen took up a five-year position as professor of neurorehabilitation, focusing particularly on spinal cord injury.
