Teaching

Pregraduate teaching
The department carries out pregraduate and postgraduate level teaching of medical students, physicians and laboratory technologist students. The university attachment is managed by Prof. Elisabeth Ralfkiær, DMSc, Consultant, who together with 5 clinical associate professors attached to the Department of Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Copenhagen is responsible for teaching medical students in clinical pathology. In addition, 1 clinical associate professor who is attached to the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, teaches general pathology.

In 2009, virtual (digitalised) microscopy was introduced in pregraduate teaching of general pathology. In the next few years, this teaching method is also expected to be introduced in connection with teaching special pathology and histology.

Medical specialist training
The Department of Pathology is responsible for eight man-years in the 4 main training courses in the medical specialist training programme in pathological anatomy. The department is also responsible for, one man-year in the main training programme in forensic medicine and one man-year in an introductory course for both specialities. Ben Vainer is the consultant responsible for training.

Laboratory technologist training programme
Annette Stenlov and Marianne Rasmussen, laboratory technologists, carry out teaching of laboratory technologist students.
